Privacy Policy

This website is operated by Berat Şimşek, an independent freelancer who designs and builds websites, based in Türkiye ("I", "me", "my"). This policy explains what information I collect when you visit this site or contact me, why I collect it, and the choices you have.

I keep this short on purpose. This is a small studio site: it does not run advertising, tracking pixels, or analytics profiling, and it collects only what you choose to send me.

What I collect

When you use the contact form, I collect the information you enter: your name, your email address, and the message you write (including any links you paste, such as a current website or a Google Business Profile). These fields are optional beyond what the form marks as required, and you decide what to include. The form is handled by Netlify, and your entry is stored in my Netlify account until I delete it.

When you use the chat assistant, I collect what you type into it. The next section explains exactly where that goes and what is kept.

When you email me directly, I receive your email address and whatever you write, the same as any normal email.

I do not collect payment card details on this site. If we work together, invoicing and payment happen through Payoneer under a separate agreement, and Payoneer handles that information under its own privacy terms.

The chat assistant

The chat bubble in the corner is an AI assistant, not me. It answers questions about pricing, packages, process and timelines. It can be wrong, and nothing it says is a quote or a promise.

Here is what happens to what you type:

• Your message goes first to this site's own server function, which passes it on to the automation service that runs the assistant, and from there to the AI model that writes the reply. The function does not log what you write. It records error codes only, so I can tell when something breaks.
• While the chat is open, the recent messages are held in short-lived memory so the assistant can follow the thread.
• If you share an email address, the conversation is saved to my leads spreadsheet and I get an email about it, so that I can reply to you personally.
• If you never share an email address, the conversation is not written to the spreadsheet at all. It leaves the assistant's memory shortly after you stop writing.
• If the assistant fails in the middle of a conversation, your message is emailed to me so your question is not lost.

The notice under the chat box says chats are stored and emailed to me. That is deliberately the worst case, and it is the safe way to read it: assume anything you type may be kept. Please do not send patient details, health information, passwords, card numbers, or anything else sensitive through the chat. If something like that does end up in a message, tell me and I will delete it.

The chat also keeps a random session id in your browser's session storage so the assistant can tell your messages apart from someone else's. It is not a cookie, it says nothing about who you are, and your browser drops it when you close the tab.

Cookies, analytics and Do Not Track

This site is a static website. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies, it runs no analytics, and it does not build a profile of your browsing. Any strictly necessary cookies are limited to what the hosting platform needs to serve the pages securely. The chat session id described above is not a cookie.

Because nothing here follows you across other websites, there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off, and the site does not act on those signals.

Who processes your information

To run the site and respond to you, I use a small number of third-party services that act as data processors on my behalf:

• Netlify hosts the site, runs the chat function, and receives contact-form submissions.
• n8n Cloud runs the automation behind the chat assistant.
• Anthropic provides the AI model (Claude Haiku 4.5) that writes the assistant's replies.
• Google Workspace provides the spreadsheet where chat leads are saved and the Gmail account I answer you from.
• Payoneer processes payment if we enter into a paid engagement, under a separate agreement, not through this site.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

Where your information is processed

I am based in Türkiye and many of the people who contact me are in the United States, so your information is transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. Here is the whole picture in one table:

Wherever it is processed, I handle it in line with this policy.

Why I collect it

I use your information only to read your message, reply to you, and to carry out the work if we decide to work together.

I do not sell or share personal information. There is no advertising network, no data broker, and no third party that receives your information for its own purposes. The providers listed above process it only to run this site and my replies to you.

How long I keep it

• Chat transcripts: 12 months, then deleted.
• Lead records from the chat (your email address, the topic, a one-line summary): 24 months, then deleted.
• Contact-form entries and email correspondence: for as long as needed to answer you and, if a project follows, for as long as our working relationship and any legal or accounting obligations require.
• Automation run logs: failed runs 7 days; successful runs are not saved at all.
• Hosting and function logs: about 30 days, then the hosting platform deletes them.

The log retention above happens automatically. The spreadsheet is my own responsibility: I check it monthly and delete the rows that have reached the end of these periods. You can ask me to delete your information sooner, at any time.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your information, including the right to ask what I hold, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these, or if you have a question about this policy, email me at berat@beratsimsek.com. I answer within 30 days.

Children

This site is intended for business owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If I change how the site handles information, I will update this page and change the "last updated" date above.
